If you’re using an Omron blood pressure monitor, make sure the cuff is the right size. The Omron M2 Basic comes with a standard size cuff that fits arms measuring 22 cm to 32 cm in diameter. Separately, an Omron big blood pressure monitor cuff, suitable for arm circumferences of 32 cm to 42 cm, is available. The professionally validated M2 Basic also has a hypertension indicator that shows a symbol on the screen if the blood pressure measurement is higher than the recommended level of 135/85 mmHg. You may be confident that a clinically validated monitor has completed tests done by independent doctors according to a predetermined methodology, which includes validating the accuracy of the blood pressure monitor’s measurements (algorithm).
